Periods of Practice
Periods of Practicing

Life often gifts me an extended period during which I practice new ways of thinking, different ways of relating, connecting with others. Sheer dogged persistence has served me well. I have been most happily surprised by how much more flexible my life has become. Every day finds new and robust challenges to face, options for changing my approach, priorities and other beliefs that no longer serve.

Things End
Things End …

Things end. And while people think of our deaths as hardest to accept, I want to challenge that. I sometimes think that old people like me forget we can always learn and grow. The ways in which I enjoy my life now are very different from what I used to do that gave me pleasure. Difficult as it may be physically with health problems, this is hands down the best time of my life.

One more “most difficult to accept” issue for me? To be gifted with life wisdom and to know bone-deep that we all must find our own ways. I’m happy to share but grateful to respect the incredible competence of people who are younger than I. To do them the courtesy of checking in before sharing.
